Around 4,000 Muslims in Hong Kong came together on Friday to pray for the victims of the tragic Tai Po fire, which claimed at least 159 lives, including nine Indonesian and one Filipino domestic workers.
A special session led by the Incorporated Trustees of the Islamic Community Fund was held at Kowloon Mosque, attended by Chief Imam Mufti Muhammad Arshad, who urged community unity and expressed condolences to all affected. He announced that funds are being raised to support victims’ families and arrange for repatriation of bodies.
Diplomats from several countries, including India, Indonesia and Bangladesh, also attended, showing solidarity with Hong Kong.

The community leaders affirmed their commitment to supporting bereaved families with financial aid and counseling. The international community remains united in grief during this difficult time.
